Welcome to the New Animation Lab Website
This lab is designed to prepare students for careers in the 3D and Design industry. We will be teaching subjects such as: 3D Animation, 2D Animation, Industrial Design, AdvancedWeb Design, Claymation, Stop Motion Animation. In addition to these subject matterswhich are directlyrelatedto industry, we will be teachingtheskills that industry is screaming for.These skills are as follows: Basic Drawing Skills, Color and Layout Design, Head Drawing, Body Studies, Figure Drawing, Gesture Drawing and most importantly Digital Drawing. The lab is equipped with Wacom Tablets at each station, allowing students to be able to make their drawings directly on the computer.
It is a common misunderstanding that 3D Modeling has a small window of opportunity when it comes to getting a job. There are a lot more jobs out there outside of what you see inthe movie theaters and on the games kids are playing these days. The architectural industry is using 3D to walk people through their houses before they are even built. Doctors are using 3D to walk through their procedures in 3D before actually cutting into a patients. In commercials, what often just seems like a cool shot, is done all in 3D.Lawyers are using 3D presentations in court in order to bring to life the reality of a crime committed. Police officers are using 3D in order to recreate a crime scene or an accident, and all types of industry are using 3D in 
order to create products, test products and prototype objects without going through the process of having to create the real object. 3D is the future of industry, I predict that there will be very few jobs left uneffected by by 3D in some way or another. You will find that 3D will be used either in the process or the end product of everything made, or simply in the conceptual process of presenting ideas for things that are not made but simply implemented. If nothing else, computers are in every single industry, and the ability to work with computers will no longer be a nicety, rather a necessity. In this lab we provide students with the education of how to use computers from the ground level up, and then we take them way past what most students will know coming out of college.
